Design Interns
(1 in Redwood City, 1 in Oakland)

Interns report to the Sales Manager, an interior design graduate who started with GALVINS in 1991. Internships will provide a unique opportunity to learn various phases of the sales process. Additionally, interns may be called upon to help organize the design library, assist in floor displays, make follow-up calls to customers, provide back-up design/drawing assistance for the staff, and perform other tasks as needed. Interns will gain an excellent overview of store operations. We prefer individuals who might like to work for Galvins following the completion of their internship.

Space planning ability, freehand sketching and computer literacy.

Personal Traits

Good people skills, detail orientation, ability to document work, able to interact as part of team, and skill at following projects through to completion.

Hours

Internship are part-time with starting dates as soon as possible. Interns must be willing to work at least 10 hours/week.

Lead Installers
(1 in Redwood City, 1 in Oakland)

These individuals are responsible for leading two to three man teams in the delivery and installation of high-quality modular office furniture systems.

These positions require superior customer contact skills so that a positive impression is left with customers increasing the likelihood of repeat sales.

Additionally, these individuals must train other installation staff in a professional manner in the skills needed to complete their assigned tasks; review floorplans and modifications for feasibility and ease of installation; and report recommendations to Operations Manager; and, must be responsible for assuring that proper tools and supplies are available for each installation team and that they are accounted for and maintained.

Must have installation and delivery experience with modular office furniture, a clean DMV record, excellent furniture assembly and modification skills, and the ability to see jobs through to completion in a professional and time efficient manner without supervision.

Compensation

Installers
(1 in Redwood City, 1 in Oakland)

These individuals are responsible for the delivery and installation of high-quality modular office furniture systems.

These positions require superior customer contact skills so that a positive impression is left with customers increasing the likelihood of repeat sales.

These individuals participate in some training of delivery/helpers and in review of floor plans. They also participate in general maintenance and stock handling duties for each store, warehouse and vehicle.

Must have installation and delivery experience, a clean DMV record, excellent furniture assembly and modification skills, and the ability to see jobs through to completion in a professional and time efficient manner without supervision.

Delivery People/Helpers
(1 in Redwood City, 1 in Oakland)

These positions require some experience in delivery and/or general warehouse tasks including simple deliveries and basic assemblies as experience warrants.

These individuals must be willing to develop good customer contact skills, leaving a positive impression so customers would be pleased to have repeat installations. These individuals are gaining assembly skills on the job while providing assistance to Installer and/or Lead Installer as assigned.

Must have installation and delivery experience, a clean DMV record, excellent furniture assembly and modification skills, and the ability to see jobs through to completion in a professional and time efficient manner without supervision.
