Redwood City's GALVINS opened its second store December 26 in the former Whole Earth Access warehouse in Berkeley near Ashby and Highway 80 on Seventh Street.
Since 1976, father-son team Barry and Patrick Galvin have catered to small- and home-office keepers with wide assortment of furniture and accessories. The Berkley store is a third larger than the Redwood City operation and represents a $500,000 investment.
The store caters to approximately 900,000 Bay Area residents who work from home. The Berkeley store will primarily serve the East Bay telecommuters who don't want to drive the Bay Bridge.
GALVINS' expansion includes an on on-line store opening by the end of 1999.
