SAN DIEGO - GALVINS Home & Office Furniture in Redwood City, California received Myriad Software's Retailer of the Year Award at a dinner during the store automation vendor's annual user conference here.
Founder Barry Galvin accepted the award for GALVINS, which opened its second store in Berkeley, California earlier this year.
"This award is for growth and system implementation," said Russell Higgins, a Myriad principal. "GALVINS was among our first clients and among the first with point-of-sale.
"They're very very quick to embrace technology. They have a beautiful Web site that plays an important role in their business. They've used the system to grow."
Home Furnishings Plus in Colorado Springs, Colorado won the Appreciation Award in recognition of the store's assistance with referrals, hosting of prospects, commitment to the software system, and recommendations for product development.
Oakwood Furniture in Daytona Beach, Florida was named Development Partner of the Year. Myriad recognized Oakwood for its help in serving as a beta site for versions 5.8 and 5.9 of the vendor's Big Ticket Retail Manager software.
